Ladispoli – “Cuddles of Milk, the Breastfeeding Corner” is back
The municipal administration announces that on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week (Oct. 1 – 7), the “Cuddles of Milk – the Breastfeeding Corner” point by midwife Samuela Sini is back in Ladispoli.
On Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2015, the “Cuddles of Milk” point will be held at the central box located on the right side of Rossellini Square. From 4 to 6 p.m. the midwife will be present to talk about breastfeeding and one of her chosen aspects for SAM 2015, providing free counseling to new mothers, and beyond. Membership is highly recommended for both new mothers and mothers-to-be. The first World Breastfeeding Week was held in 1992 and was conceived by UNICEF and WABA ( World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action) in order to create an event that would unify social mobilization, drawing attention and calling, thus, to action.
That is why every year since that year, WABA chooses one aspect of breastfeeding as the main theme for the SAM.
This year’s theme is “Breastfeeding and Work: Let’s Get to Work,” and it aims to address the time for new mothers to return to work, taking into consideration the timeframe within which these women need to do so and the ways they have or do not have to be able to continue breastfeeding their children; all of this on a global level due to the high resonance of this event. In the point “Cuddles of Milk – the Lactation Corner” we would like to explore this topic together with new mothers and mothers-to-be, in order to be able to shed light regarding how much and what is possible to do in order not to stop breastfeeding even when the time comes to go back to work.
