Tomorrow in Cerveteri, free screening for diabetes prevention
An apple, a symbol of the fight against diabetes, given by Red Cross volunteers to each person visited
The Italian Red Cross, thanks to volunteers from the local Santa Severa committee, will be on hand all day tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 14, in Cerveteri, in Piazza Aldo Moro, for the Diabetes Information Day.
Citizens will be able to contact health care providers who will be on hand to request a free checkup and diabetes preventive screening.
“There are unfortunately a lot of people – explained Francesca Cennerilli, Councillor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Cerveteri – who are affected by this disease without even knowing it, or who have for some reason a greater propensity for diabetes to manifest itself. This is why prevention is important, and I would like to thank the CRI volunteers for the’important awareness campaign”.
Citizens will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire. After the blood glucose measurement, an in-depth medical interview will be used to give helpful hints and suggestions. Everyone will be given an apple, a symbol of diabetes prevention.
