REGION – COLLECTING SIGNATURES ON BEHALF OF ALZHEIMER'S SUFFERERS

In Lazio there are at least 50.000 sufferers of dementia, of whom about 33.200 are Alzheimer’s.
From Alzheimer’s disease cannot be cured, the disease canò last as long as 15 to 20 years and lead to complete incapacitationà.
The direct and indirect costs for one patient range from 20.000 a 50.000 euros a’year depending on the degree of the disease.In the next 20 è expected to double from.
Over 100.000 family members in Lazio who care for a person with Alzheimer's disease or other Dementia are in dire straitsà becauseè 80% of the costs are borne by the family and public assistance è extremely deficient.

For these dramatic reasons, our Association has launched a Signature Collection aimed at urging the’approval of the “Regional Plan in favor of individuals with Alzheimer”s disease and other forms of Dementia” presented by the’Hon.Alessandra Mandarelli to the Regional Council of Lazio on June 30, 2010 under no°35 and stopped now for a year.
