Cisterna di Latina – Sunday dressed in pink for breast cancer prevention
A large group of 90 walkers ploughed through the streets of Cisterna following a pink route on which a number of posted signs gave guidance on “false myths” about breast cancer. Starting from Palazzo Caetani, the group of women, men, children and even a few four-legged friends crossed the entire city to John Paul II Park and then returned to Piazza XIX Marzo for the closing of the event.
Throughout the day, until 7:30 p.m., there were breast examinations with Dr. Ssa Maria Grazia De Stefano who, together with the midwives of the Provincial College of Midwives, was able to advise and give answers to many women.
Enthusiastic about the day was Women’s Council President Stefania Ramiccia: “It is important that we understand the essentiality of regular checkups to safeguard our health. I want to thank, in addition to all the Consulta members who collaborated to make the event happen, Dr.Ssa De Stefano who patiently listened to more than 50 women, the Provincial College of Midwives, the Red Cross, Civil Defense, Local Police and the Municipal Administration”.
“The event, organized by the newly formed Women’s Council, was a first step in educating women’s health. Our council is made up of many Cisternese professionals and women who want to put their skills at the service of our community to create culture, and my applause goes to all of you who have committed yourselves to the success of this first initiative,” commented Mayor Della Penna.
