BRACCIANO – ARSENIC: MAYOR GIULIANO SALA TAKES STOCK OF THE SITUATION

The sampling carried out in Principe di Napoli Street (Fiora aqueduct) showed arsenic concentrations of 13 micrograms per liter.

“We believe that the mix of interventions put in place – stresses the mayor of Bracciano Giuliano Sala – may be suitable to return to guarantee in a relatively short time drinking water to all the citizens of Bracciano. We are intervening not only with new dearsenifiers but also by programming modalità of mixing the’water. We have also provided funding for small dearsenification plants for middle schools as well.

As for the elementary school cafeteria – Mayor Sala further clarifies – We will provide drinking water until the end of the’school year.
All’Padre Pio hospital the management is taking steps to implement dearsenifiers at the canteen and, in the meantime, we are supplying drinking water. L’purchase of new filters for the’Lega aqueduct will allow usà to also come within the legal limits for the distribution of drinking water in the Vigna di Valle area. For years we have been working on the problem. The exceedances in January, after we were instead below the
10 micrograms per liter as per the provision that came into effect on 1° January 2013, are due to various factors that, with these interventions, we hope to eliminate. We reiterate the choice of self-management of the water resource – Mayor Sala says again – and work to ensure the mostù soon compliant water for all the people of Bracciano”.

It is recalled that to get water to standard in Bracciano è possible at this stage of the two public fountains of dearsenified water on Pratigliolo Street and Macchia Street, as well as the public drinking fountains on the Argenti lakefront.
